How can I get to the core of who you are as a family or couple?

Here's what you can expect from me.

I grew up in the 90s, where the best family photos showed everyone in a nice arrangement, all dressed in nearly the same way, looking at the camera and smiling nicely. Inevitably, the best photo of the rest of us would have my brother purposefully picking his nose or me scowling at the camera because I was DONE sitting still. These are not the photos I take.

In our session together, you can expect a lot of movement and laughs and hugs and kisses. I don’t want your kids to sit perfectly for every shot. I want them to be hilarious and themselves. I want to see how you talk to them, how you talk to your partner, and how you all fit together. Don’t get me wrong, I will always get a beautiful portrait of each individual kid looking at the camera and standing still, but that’s not how the whole time will be spent.

A lot of people feel like their session went horribly because it felt chaotic and their kids weren’t perfectly behaved, but trust me, that’s my ideal kind of session. That’s the place where I get interesting, genuine photos of who you are. And I’ll let you in on a little secret, I shoot an average of 400 photos per family session, and I send you 25 gorgeously edited images. The law of averages is on our side here.
